2020 Race Update

As the Democratic Race carries on I wanted to update everyone on current polling. Joe Biden has remained the front running in the election for September. Followed then by Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, and Kamala Harris.

Pundits are saying that Biden could potentially lose his front runner position to Harris. Bernie was in the hospital for health-related issues this week and has suspended all campaign events until further notice, leaving people thinking if he can continue. The question then is where is his portion of the electorate going? Many pundits say Warren will get a majority.

Meanwhile on the Republican side, President Trump is potentially going to have an impeachment inquiry brought up against him. A majority of Democrats are in favor of impeachment, now including Joe Biden. Trumps base is notoriously unshakable, and we will see if this remains true through impeachment inquiries (if they happen).

  1. I'm very interested to see what effect Bernie's health issues will have on this race. Disappointed that something like that would impact how it all plays out.

  2. This was an interesting debate because the candidates definitely acted like Sen. Warren was the front runner, so she was on defense a lot of the time. Also, Bernie actually had a ton of energy despite what his heart attack just a couple weeks ago. Buttigieg fought back several times and I think will go up in the polls. Klobuchar was also on the offense on several issues. I do wish that the time was distributed more throughout the candidates because I would have liked to hear from Andrew Yang and Tulsi Gabbard more.

Biden Is Leading The Polls | A New DNC Poll

This week has been an explosive one on capital hill. The impeachment inquiry drags on, uncertainty in the marketplace continues, and a new poll from the DNC shows Joe Biden leading by a big margin. You can take a look at all the polling here:  http://cdn.cnn.com/cnn/2019/images/10/22/rel12b.-.2020.pdf "Thirty-four percent of Democratic and Democratic-leaning registered voters prefer Biden as the party’s pick to take on President Donald Trump in next year’s general election, according to a CNN poll conducted by SSRS and released Wednesday. Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren ranks second with 19 percent support, followed by Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders with 16 percent. Mayor Pete Buttigieg of South Bend, Indiana, and California Sen. Kamala Harris both achieved 6 percent in the poll, while Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar and former Texas Rep. Beto O’Rourke raked in 3 percent of respondents." -  Quint Forgey | Politico
