2020 Race Update

As the Democratic Race carries on I wanted to update everyone on current polling. Joe Biden has remained the front running in the election for September. Followed then by Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, and Kamala Harris.

Pundits are saying that Biden could potentially lose his front runner position to Harris. Bernie was in the hospital for health-related issues this week and has suspended all campaign events until further notice, leaving people thinking if he can continue. The question then is where is his portion of the electorate going? Many pundits say Warren will get a majority.

Meanwhile on the Republican side, President Trump is potentially going to have an impeachment inquiry brought up against him. A majority of Democrats are in favor of impeachment, now including Joe Biden. Trumps base is notoriously unshakable, and we will see if this remains true through impeachment inquiries (if they happen).

  1. I'm very interested to see what effect Bernie's health issues will have on this race. Disappointed that something like that would impact how it all plays out.

  2. This was an interesting debate because the candidates definitely acted like Sen. Warren was the front runner, so she was on defense a lot of the time. Also, Bernie actually had a ton of energy despite what his heart attack just a couple weeks ago. Buttigieg fought back several times and I think will go up in the polls. Klobuchar was also on the offense on several issues. I do wish that the time was distributed more throughout the candidates because I would have liked to hear from Andrew Yang and Tulsi Gabbard more.

Current State of the 2020 Presidential Election

Current State of the 2020 Presidential Election I wanted to give an overview of the current state of the election. Here is some polling that I found and it looks like Joe Biden is leading the race. Many political commentators believe it is because of an "electability" factor, meaning he could potentially win against President Trump.  Latest Polls in Early Voting States Biden is also leading the polls among early voting states. These states are important in the political process not because of the number of electors that come from that state, but the media coverage candidates receive.  Here is a great Summary from The New York Times "Here is the latest. Sept. 6, 2019 The Democratic presidential primary is in a period of stability, though perhaps only a brief one ahead of the next debate on Thursday, Sept. 12. Joseph R. Biden Jr. remains the leading candidate, but he appears weaker now than on the day he entered the race. He has not gained...

Biden | Does He Have The Money To Continue

One of the largest issues for presidential candidates today is fund raising. Just because you've raised a lot of funds doesn't mean you will do well, but what happens when you don't have enough? My opinion, the amount candidates fundraise should be capped and businesses should not be allowed to contribute in any way. Now, I understand you do need money to advertise to people and let people know who you are but do they really need hundreds of millions of dollars, no. Imagine a presidential race fully funded by people where everyone is on the same level (in terms of money). I think we would have candidates who are more interested in their supporters issues and follow through when and if they get into office. I'll get off my soap box now. Recently Joe Biden, who is being identified as the front runner, has been having some fund raising issues.  Now, why is the supposed front runner having so many issues filling the coffers? His staff says it is because they got ...
