Tonight we will have a debate between the remaining (and new) Democratic candidates. The recent polling out of Iowa is telling us that Pete Buttigieg is ahead of all other candidates. Buttigieg has been running a lot of ads in Iowa and spending a lot of time in the state. Many people are associating this with President Obama's election, who also won in Iowa and jump started his campaign. However, critics are saying he does not have support from key demographics of the Democratic party. Biden is still hanging onto the top of the polls with Warren and Sanders tied in some polls. 

The debate stage will be interesting tonight. We still need to hear from a lot of candidates such as Andrew Yang, Kory Booker, and Amy Klobuchar. I think MSNBC did a good job of showing all of the candidates last time, so hopefully they will continue to do so. The recent polling out of Iowa will put a lot of spot light on Buttigieg and many candidates will challenge him. Biden is also supposed to be challenged as well because he is still leading national polls. This is the first time we will see Tom Styer, the billionaire business man, politician, and activist. Many are not taking his run seriously due to the fact that he donated pretty much all of his campaign budget himself.

    I saw A LOT on Twitter about the candidates that were NOT involved in this debate. Very interesting strategy to try and participate as the outsider on a different platform. Somewhat effective I think.

One of the largest issues for presidential candidates today is fund raising. Just because you've raised a lot of funds doesn't mean you will do well, but what happens when you don't have enough? My opinion, the amount candidates fundraise should be capped and businesses should not be allowed to contribute in any way. Now, I understand you do need money to advertise to people and let people know who you are but do they really need hundreds of millions of dollars, no. 2020 Race Update

As the Democratic Race carries on I wanted to update everyone on current polling. Joe Biden has remained the front running in the election for September. Followed then by Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, and Kamala Harris. Pundits are saying that Biden could potentially lose his front runner position to Harris. Bernie was in the hospital for health-related issues this week and has suspended all campaign events until further notice, leaving people thinking if he can continue. The question then is where is his portion of the electorate going? Many pundits say Warren will get a majority. Meanwhile on the Republican side, President Trump is potentially going to have an impeachment inquiry brought up against him. A majority of Democrats are in favor of impeachment, now including Joe Biden. Trumps base is notoriously unshakable, and we will see if this remains true through impeachment inquiries (if they happen).

Current State of the 2020 Presidential Election I wanted to give an overview of the current state of the election. Here is some polling that I found and it looks like Joe Biden is leading the race. Many political commentators believe it is because of an "electability" factor, meaning he could potentially win against President Trump.  Latest Polls in Early Voting States Biden is also leading the polls among early voting states.
